The Financial Services Roundtable represents 100 of the largest integrated financial services companies providing banking, insurance, and investment products and services to the American consumer. Member companies participate through the Chief Executive Officer and other senior executives nominated by the CEO. The Roundtable's Housing Policy Council is made up of twenty-fourcompanies that are among the nation's leaders in mortgage finance. Member companies originate sixty-four percent of the mortgages for American home buyers.

Roundtable member companies provide fuel for America's economic engine, accounting directly for $65.8 trillion in managed assets, $1 trillion in revenue, and 2.4 million jobs.

 
Financial Services Roundtable Initiatives

 

Agents for Change is a trade association of insurance agents and brokers from across all lines of insurance working together to reform insurance regulation and enact an optional federal charter (OFC) to allow producers and insurers the option of being regulated at either the federal or the state level.  Members of Agents for Change participate in policy development and provide public policy makers with expert advice as they move forward to modernize insurance regulation.
 
BITS was created in 1996 to foster the growth and development of electronic financial services and e-commerce for the benefit of financial institutions and their customers. A division of The Financial Services Roundtable, BITS works to sustain consumer confidence and trust by ensuring the security, privacy and integrity of financial transactions. BITS provides intellectual capital and addresses emerging issues where financial services, technology and commerce intersect, acting quickly to address problems and galvanize the industry. BITS' efforts involve representatives from throughout our member institutions, including CEOs, CIOs, CISOs, and fraud, compliance and vendor management specialists. The Housing Policy Council and 14 of its companies have partnered with NeighborWorks® America and the Homeownership Preservation Foundation in a national effort to prevent foreclosures and preserve homeownership.  The hotline, 888-995-HOPE and website, www.995hope.com, are available 24/7 to any homeowner in America having trouble paying their mortgage.  Homeowners in distress will receive absolutely free foreclosure prevention counseling by expert counselors at HUD-approved agencies.  When a homeowner calls 888-995-HOPE, service begins immediately as the counselors themselves answer the phone; homeowners can get budgeting help, a written financial plan, and assistance contacting their lender.  If they would like face-to-face counseling, they are referred to their local NeighborWorks® agency or other counseling agencies.  For more information visit www.995hope.com.
 
InFact is a grassroots initiative representing hundreds of thousands of financial services professionals working to support legislation and regulatory changes that will give every American access to the widest variety of financial products and services at the most competitive prices.  Founded in 2004 by The Financial Services Roundtable, InFact is an initiative designed to provide input and information about policy issues important to the financial services industry and to coordinate action among the hundreds of thousands of employees of our 100 member companies.  Through emails, letters, and ongoing interaction with legislators, the goal of InFact is to make a positive impact on legislation directly affecting the Roundtable’s member companies and the consumers we serve.
